Small grants for international development

Minister for External Affairs, Humza Yousaf has launched a Small Grants Scheme for international development.

At the AGM of the Network of International Development Organisation of Scotland (NIDOS) in Glasgow, Mr Yousaf announced that the Lloyds TSB Foundation for Scotland will run the Scottish Government’s new funding programme – designed to help international development organisations in Scotland build capacity to bid for funding under the main International Development Fund, encourage innovation and create a wider pool of expertise and experience in developing countries.

The Scottish Government will facilitate the formation of a Post-2015 working group of Scottish international development Non Government Organisations and academics, on which NIDOS will be represented. The group’s remit will be to consider and inform the Scottish Government’s input into the framework that emerges from the UN’s plans.
