Dr Angela O’Hagan, WiSE, gave the keynote address at “Feminisms and Institutional Change: Celebrating Beijing +20”. This one-day conference on 27 October was organised by Barcelona City Council (Ajuntament de Barcelona) and included senior representatives from the City Council, the gender equality agencies EMAKUNDE, IAM, and ICD, and a range of civil society organisations. On 28 October, as part of the early adoption of gender budgeting by Barcelona City Council, Angela ran a training session with political advisers, senior managers and the Equality Unit based on her doctoral thesis comparing gender budgeting in Scotland, Euskadi and Andalucía, and her wider national and comparative research and practice development.
