  • Chief Economist to the Scottish Government to give annual lecture

    ​The performance of the economy will be under the spotlight when the Chief Economist to the Scottish Government delivers his annual lecture to students and staff on Friday, April 3.

    Dr Gary Gillespie was appointed Scottish Government Director and Chief Economist in 2011. He is responsible for providing analytical support to ministers and colleagues, providing analytical support to the Economic Development and Energy and Climate Directorates, and producing timely and robust economic statistics. He has been an Honorary Professor at GCU since 2011.
    His lecture, hosted by the University’s Wise Centre for Economic Justice, will take place at 11am in room C001 in the Charles Oakley building. All staff and students are welcome.
