GCU London will hold its winter graduation ceremony on Wednesday, 4 November in Christ Church, Spitalfields.
The ceremony will celebrate academic awards across the disciplines of banking, finance and risk; construction and project management; public health; and business management and marketing, and will include a number of students graduating from the British School of Fashion.
The University is honoured that a Lifetime Achievement Award will be presented to Mahmud Kamani, fashion entrepreneur and joint-CEO of online fashion retailer boohoo.com. In addition, Mr Kamani will be appointed a GCU Honorary Professor.
boohoo has developed a number of strategic international markets and achieved sales to over 130 countries. It was recently named Best Online Fashion Retailer at the High Street Fashion Awards for the fourth year running. boohoo was floated in March 2014 with a valuation of £560million. Mr Kamani and his family retain a 38.14 per cent stake in the business.
The GCU London Alumnus of the Year Award will be presented to Steffen Bornhoeft, who studied for an MSc International Fashion Marketing. Since graduating in 2013, Mr Bornhoeft has continued to work internationally, joining the Mintel Group, a world-leading market intelligence agency, where he was promoted to Account Director Germany, Austria and Switzerland within a year of taking up an internship role.
