Two lucky GCU London students won tickets to the London Fashion Week Festival (LFWF) located at The Store Studios, 180 Strand. The London Fashion Week Festival follows on from the renowned and exclusive London Fashion Week, and is an event where all fashion fans can attend.
As part of the Silver package ticket, our students Steve Okorie (MSc International Management and Business Development) and Miao-An (Ariana) Chiu (MSc Luxury Brand Marketing) had the opportunity to attend a catwalk, shop for designer pieces at great prices and learn about the fashion industry through talks led by experts.
When asked about her experience at LFWF, Ariana expressed:
“I was excited that I won the tickets. This is my first time at London Fashion Week Festival, and my first time to attend a catwalk show. The designer, Edeline Lee was amazing!!! All the models were wearing creative clothes and they looked so comfortable, graceful and colourful. It was a wonderful experience which broadened my horizons. Thank you GCU LONDON for giving me this opportunity to join LFWF.”
Steve further provides an account of his experience:
“I’ve been looking forward to the London Fashion Week for a while now. I’ve always seen the reports on the past shows in magazines and blogs and I took particular interest in the event. When I got the opportunity to attend this year’s London Fashion Weekend Festival, I was really excited because I was going to gain a first-hand experience of the show.”
“I got to the venue, The Store Studios just in time and took a roll call selfie. Next, I went to get myself the beautiful and colourful tote that came with the ticket. The tote as it is, can be used for any occasion and it’s so fashionable!”
“The exhibition floor was filled with artistic pieces from various designers from all over the world. The atmosphere too was really welcoming and the people were nice and so fashionable. There was a complimentary nail bar, quick massage stall, instant photo booth and magazines.”
“The designer showcasing today was Edeline Lee, a Canadian-born British designer and a former apprentice of Alexander Wang whose top clients include Solange Knowles, Taylor Swift, Jaime King among others. Her collection comprised of minimalistic pieces with different tones of grey and blue. The models really did justice to the pieces as they had such perfect physique and floated across the stage. The catwalk ended with a dramatic walk by the models where they all spread out and froze.”
“It was an amazing experience and I look forward to the show in February. Thank you GCU London for this opportunity!”
We are glad that our students had a fantastic experience at the London Fashion Week Festival!
