Emily Thomson, Senior Lecturer in LEAR and member of the WiSE Research Centre will attend the “Fairer Caring Nations: What could Scotland/UK learn about using care policy to achieve gender equality?” Advisory Board and Workshop in Edinburgh on Tuesday 16 June.
Its aims are to exchange knowledge between academics, policy makers and stakeholders regarding:
1. What different childcare and longterm care policies exist in developed welfare states that can help achieve gender equality?
2. Which elements, if any, of these policies could be adopted in Scotland and/or the UK? What possibilities and barriers are there?
3. How can we develop better childcare and longterm care policies in Scotland and/or the UK to achieve gender equality?
