WiSE Centre for Economic Justice is delighted to announce two Visiting Professors

Based in the WiSE Centre, Professor Maruyama and Professor Kazue will be visiting until December and delivering seminar talks throughout their stay. They will be working with Professor Sara Cantillon and Dr Michele Hilton Boon on a study funded by the Japanese Science Foundation examining income pooling living standards within Japanese Households.

Professor Satomi Maruyama

Associate Professor in the Graduate School, Kyoto University.

Her research interests include relationship between poverty and gender.

Professor Muta Kazue …

Professor at Osaka University, specializing in historical sociology and gender studies.

Muta received her master’s degree in sociology from Kyoto University and completed her doctoral studies at the same university. Muta has held positions at Harvard University and Columbia University before starting in her current role in April 2004.

Books include Beyond the Gendered Family: Feminism and the Politics of Modern and Contemporary Life and Boss, That’s Not Love but Sexual Harassment!
