Professor Tahseen Jafry will join a high-level panel to discuss the next steps in Scotland’s journey to being a zero-carbon country.
The event “Towards Net Zero: Accelerating Scotland’s Energy Transition” is being organised by Holyrood Communications for the SNP National Conference 2021’s Fringe Programme.
The Director of the University’s Centre for Climate Justice will join Michael Matheson MSP, Cabinet Secretary for Net Zero, Energy and Transport, Scottish Government; and a senior representative from BP at the online event on September 13.
Chaired by Holyrood Magazine’s Managing Editor, Mandy Rhodes, the discussion will also focus on how Scotland can secure its place as a world leader in renewable energy, as seen in the oil and gas industry.
Professor Jafry said: “We are at a significant point in the race to tackling climate change. But in this race, we must not only embrace, but fully understand, the climate just aspects of the transition to net-zero.”
