The University of Stirling is seeking to appoint a researcher within the School of Applied Social Sciences The researcher will work with, and be responsible to Professor Kirstein Rummery on an ESRC funded grant entitled “Fairer, caring nations? The governance of care policy, constitutional change and addressing inequalities – lessons for Scotland”. The post is on a fixed term, part-time (0.8 FTE) basis for fifteen months. The post is based at the University of Stirling and the project will be run as part of the ESRC ‘The Future of the UK and Scotland’ programme of research.
The position would suit an outstanding early career academic, with the expectation being that they would develop a strong track record of publications on the topics of the grant to be published during the fifteen month period, as well as engaging directly with policy makers and practitioners in the field. The successful candidate will work closely with Professor Rummery and there will be considerable opportunities to publish together, to a level that makes the successful candidate highly competitive in the lectureship market.
Applicants from all social science backgrounds are encouraged, although an ability to conduct comparative research, critical systematic literature reviews, qualitative research and a familiarity with equalities issues, care policy and social policy would be an advantage.
