5th Annual Ailsa McKay Memorial Lecture “Confessions of a Rotten Kid- Reflections on Feminist Economics and the Future of the World”

Wise Centre for Economic Justice are delighted to invite you to the 5th Annual Ailsa McKay Memorial lecture, which this year will be held via Zoom on Thursday 20 May at 4pm.

Our Guest Speaker is James Heintz, Chair and Andrew Glyn Professor of Economics at the University of Massachusetts Amherst.  Professor Heintz will be Introduced by Professor Diane Elson, WiSE Visiting Professor and Chair of the Commission on a Gender Equal Economy.

James Heintz has written on a wide range of economic policy issues, including labour markets and paid employment, gender and economics, the distributive consequences of macroeconomic policies, and the intersection between economics and human rights. He has worked on collaborative projects with numerous national and international institutions, including the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights, the International Labor Organization, the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa, the United Nations Development Program, the Human Development Report Office, the South African Human Rights Commission, the Center for Women’s Global Leadership, and UN-Women. He is an associate editor for the journal Feminist Economics and serves on the board of the International Association for Feminist Economics (IAFFE).
