“GCU always felt welcoming and a comfortable space to study.”

2023 Media and Communications graduate Niamh Boyle shares her insight into life at GCU and life after graduating from university.

I chose to study at GCU because…

I loved how my course incorporated practical and theoretical elements. GCU always felt welcoming and a comfortable space to study.

The most important aspect of my university experience has been…

Exploring the different avenues, I could pursue after graduating, having the variety to pick and choose areas of media I felt most aligned with. Leaving GCU has left me with a wide range of knowledge over different topics that could be pursued later in my life.

My biggest lesson learned so far is…

Just keep going and enjoy the present at GCU, because before you know it it’s over.

I’m proud to be part of the University for the Common Good because…

GCU has always felt like a modern university that recognises the impact of society especially in sustainability and cultural inequalities. The ongoing support and research that GCU does into topics like gender-based violence is especially important.

I get my inspiration from…

The women around me, like my mum, friends, they are some of the most resilient and hardworking people I know. I am constantly in awe of them.

My next steps look like…

Taking one day at a time, I’ve got my first job after uni in marketing and can’t wait to grow my career and pursue my hobbies of hosting my own radio show.

You are most likely to bump into me…

Mostly in Box, Glasgow, on Avondale Radio, or out with my friends.
