“Life is a journey. One moment, you are trying to achieve this goal. The next moment, you are chasing something else.”

2023 Msc International Business Management graduate Jolaade Adeyemo shares her insight into life at GCU and life after graduating from university.

I chose to study at GCU because…

I got the feel of community in GCU. I had friends who had studied in GCU and gave good testimonials. Hence, it was my top choice when I was considering my options. In addition, the university offered affiliations with a professional organisation which I thought would be very useful after my studies.

The most important aspect of my university experience has been…

The learning experience. Being able to learn the nitty-gritty of my chosen course of study from seasoned and experienced lecturers was beautiful. The seminars provided opportunities for me to share ideas with my colleagues and also learn from them.

My biggest lesson learned so far is…

Life is a journey. One moment, you are trying to achieve this goal. The next moment, you are chasing something else. Hence, there would be wins, there would be loses. Either way, keep moving. Allow yourself to explore different opportunities, learn, evolve, fail forward and share your experiences with those coming behind you.

I’m proud to be part of the University for the Common Good because…

I appreciate a system that is built to provide support for everyone in the society. I have seen some of the projects that GCU has done and some upcoming projects and I can say that they are applaudable.

I get my inspiration from…

God, family and friends.

My next steps look like…

Taking each day as it comes. Maybe pursuing further studies in business analysis.

You are most likely to bump into me…

At the postgraduate study room (level 4 of the library), lol. I think I spent more than half of my study time there.
