“The Pharmacology programme at GCU is accredited by the Royal Society of Biology, and GCU has a very high employment rate of life science graduates.”

2024 Pharmacology graduate Johanna Hughes shares her insight into life at GCU and life after graduating from university.

I chose to study at GCU because…

The Pharmacology programme at GCU is accredited by the Royal Society of Biology, and GCU has a very high employment rate of life science graduates.

The most important aspect of my university experience has been…

University has allowed me to develop my presentation and communication skills, which have allowed me to feel confident in pursuing my dream career!

My biggest lesson learned so far is…

Time management is key! It helps to reduce stress associated with completing coursework etc. and also allows you to have time for extracurricular activities.

I’m proud to be part of the University for the Common Good because…

GCU promotes a supportive and inclusive environment which cultivates a sense of belonging among students and staff.

I get my inspiration from…

My family! Their belief in me have kept my spirits and motivation high throughout my time at University.

My next steps look like…

I am starting my Biology teacher training after graduating.

You are most likely to bump into me…

Most likely in a library somewhere in Glasgow as I am continuing my studies.
