  1. Hey quick question… on my uni offer the start date says 23/09/2024, but people are saying induction week 16th sept, however i am still on holiday in turkey until 18th September (2am arrival) and unable to change this now as i thought my course started 23/09/2024 as per offer email which i have accepted and registered for and looking forward to coming in September for the adult nursing course

Do you think i will be ok to miss 2 days induction, just frustrated as didnt want to miss any days but the offer letter stated 23/09/2024 thanks

    1. Hi Daniel,

I can confirm that induction commences on the 16th September this year. Teaching starts on the 23rd. There is a lot of information shared during the first two days of induction and if you miss this it will be your responsibility to catch up on the presentations and other guidance shared (this will be on the Progamme Learning site). Here is a link to the academic calendar for reference: https://www.gcu.ac.uk/currentstudents/essentials/timetable/calendar/academic-calendar-20242025

      Thanks

      1. Hi,

Where can i access the programme learning site?

I have went with the information that was put on my offer email, which stated start date 23rd September 2024, and when i checked the GCU website, there was no updated calendar information for 2024/25, only information based on 2023 programme which the dates were from last year.

I will catch up with any relevant information if needed when i am home from my holiday and will attend the 18th and 19th once an email has been sent with information based on induction

        Thanks

        1. Hi Daniel, You will be able to access it nearer the time you start the course via GCU Learn (our learning platform). I have fed back to our admissions team regarding the issue you have highlighted. Thanks

  2. Good morning I was looking for some help. I’m my college graduation is the 17th September which falls in one of the induction days. Would I be able to bring all relevant documents on the Monday? And catch up with induction via PowerPoints that will be sent out?
    Thank you

        1. Okay, that clashes with your class so I’ll let the organisers know that you are not available for the 17th Sept. Thanks, Mark

  3. I’ve got occupational health on Monday at 10.15. I assume I’ve just to join the induction once this is done? It’s just really unclear!

      1. I’ve just saw online that the Tuesday we are expected to bring documents between 1-3pm but I am unable to attend at this time as I’ve had a pre-planned event since before I even applied. Is there anyway I can bring this the Monday or earlier in the morning on the Tuesday?

        Thanks,

        Jade

        1. Hi Jade, I don’t think we’ll get a chance to deal with this on Monday. Please look out for guidance on how to ensure that you complete the requirements at a later stage. Best wishes, Mark

          1. Hi Jade, Unfortunately it looks as though your specific class is scheduled to meet from 1-3pm (this is subject to change so please look out for an email confirming the details nearer the time). Thanks

  4. Hi, are there any other induction days that we should attend other than the 16th, just so I can give my work some notice

    thank you 🙂

    1. Hi Rachel, there are activities on other days that week – please check the timetable. You are provisionally scheduled to be in from 9-11am on the Tuesday for “meet your classmates” (there are different time slots on this day). This will be confirmed via email nearer the time. Wednesday is a generic University induction with ‘meet your lecturers’ in the afternoon. Thursday is self directed and can be done from home. Friday is a chance for online preparations in advance of your first classes (at home or on campus). Thanks, Mark
