“I made amazing friends and connections that I believe will continue past my university experience.”

2023 BA Social Science graduate Sarah Darroch shares her insight into life at GCU and life after graduating from university.

I chose to study at GCU because…

I chose to study at GCU after visiting campus on an open day and found the people and environment to be welcoming. The Glasgow campus was commutable and fit in well with my work commitments.

The most important aspect of my university experience has been…

Connecting with others who are passionate about the course. I made amazing friends and connections that I believe will continue past my university experience.

My biggest lesson learned so far is…

To always ask for help when you need it, there are many avenues that the uni offers to help, which was final to me during diss season.

I’m proud to be part of the University for the Common Good because…

I have learned so much, made friends for life and pushed myself to accomplish my degree despite interference from the COVID-19 pandemic and strike action.

I get my inspiration from…

My friends and family, they helped motivate me, especially in my final year!

My next steps look like…

Looking at graduate jobs and potentially returning to GCU in the future for a Masters or post-graduate degree!

You are most likely to bump into me…

In the fourth floor of the library, the one place I could focus on my work without chatting!
